How security licensing works in the District
Security officers in DC are licensed through the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection, with the Metropolitan Police Department overseeing commissioning. Special Police Officers are commissioned through MPD and hold more authority on the property they protect than standard security officers. Many out-of-town companies cannot easily staff SPO posts. We can.
Where we work in DC
Our clients include office buildings, embassies and diplomatic residences, residential properties, construction sites, retail and event venues. That puts our officers in places like Downtown, Foggy Bottom, Capitol Hill, Navy Yard and NoMa, and along Embassy Row. Because we are local, a supervisor can reach your site quickly when something needs attention.
Security services we provide in Washington, DC
Most DC clients start with one of three needs: a lobby or access control post in an office or residential building, a Special Police Officer post where the property needs an officer with more authority, or short-notice coverage such as fire watch after an alarm or sprinkler impairment. We also provide embassy and diplomatic security, executive protection for visiting principals, mobile patrol and corporate event security.
Fire watch in the District
When a building's fire alarm or sprinkler system is out of service, the District's fire officials can require a fire watch until it is restored. We staff fire watch posts on 24-hour schedules and keep timed logs of every round for the inspector.
